Watch WWE SummerSlam 2011

SummerSlam (2011) was a PPV that took place on August 14, 2011. It was the third consecutive SummerSlam presented by 7-Eleven. For the third consecutive year, SummerSlam was held at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, and it was the 24th annual SummerSlam event. The main event was a singles match for the Undisputed WWE Championship between John Cena and CM Punk, with Triple H as the special guest referee. The title was held by both men as CM Punk left the company with the title which led to John Cena winning the interrim title. Christian defended the World Heavyweight Championship in a No Holds Barred match against Randy Orton. The Divas Championship was also defended by Kelly Kelly against Beth Phoenix. Other matches included Wade Barrett vs Daniel Bryan, Shemus vs Mark Henry, and a six-man tag team match between Kofi Kingston, John Morrison, and Rey Mysterio against The Miz, R-Truth, and Alberto Del Rio.

SummerSlam should be the 2nd greatest ppv of the season – the “party from the summer time” because they attempt to sell it off (despite the way it always happens in the finish from the summer time when children are searching for to school supplies…little oversight there eh?) however the past couple of years, SummerSlam has not quite resided as much as componen and rather, appears to become such as the season where rather of getting the second greatest matchups, they generally have one feature and it will be all filler. At one time period where CM Punk faced JBL inside a match that no-one thought about and today take a look at where he’s.

WWE Championship: CM Punk (c) versus. John Cena (c)

They certainly needed to get this done match. Should they have another match such as the last 1/3 of the match at MITB was, then this ought to be great. Should they have another match similar to their first 1/3, then I am likely to dislike it, but I am really digging the feud so I am glad they did not pull something stupid – like involve Mysterio within this. With Triple H because the referee, I’m able to only think that it goes 1 of 2 ways: HHH turns heel and screws John Cena from the title, or HHH turns heel and screws CM Punk from the title and John Cena is pissed about this afterward and grants Punk a rematch at Night of Champions. Now, there might be something within the mix with John Laurinaitis apparently backing Cena and HHH backing Punk, plus they keep speaking about this becoming an undisputed champion, so that they might have something where it is a draw of sorts, or Laurinaitis will the screwjob for Cena after HHH is bumped out in some way. I would not mind simply because, particularly if it brought for them stating that Johnny Ace was the Raw GM and ending that storyline. I loved it, however it has not been featured shortly and it’ll always have a backseat to COO-HHH, so that they must finish it. Great promos as well as an interesting feud as you would expect..

World Heavyweight Championship [No Holds Barred]: Christian (c) versus. Randy Orton

I really hope this really is their last match. They have had good matches together but I am fed up with this feud, and that i was wishing for any better stipulation than only a simple no-DQ. Orton should win the title because Christian has nobody viable to manage like a champion.

Divas Championship: Kelly Kelly (c) versus. Janet Phoenix

If Janet is definitely dating CM Punk, i then would not be surprised if this sounds like a push to try and appease him, and therefore, I would not be amazed if Janet won. However, I do not think it’s time for your to occur. Kelly has not hit any stride as champion and I simply cannot imagine people getting behind a Janet title reign right now.

Mark Henry versus. Sheamus

I do not think it’s the best to show Sheamus face because I am unsure the things they’re doing beyond him beating Henry here after which facing Christian after he drops the title to Orton. I fully expect Sheamus to win because Henry winning will be the same factor that’s happened recently. Sheamus wins, Henry will get pissed, squashes a jobber the following episode of Smackdown and bitches about losing to Sheamus, they’ve some kind of rematch on Smackdown, blah blah blah, Henry loses all clout and does not reach challenge Orton for that title with similar momentum as though he’d get it done if he dominated within this feud.

Daniel Bryan versus. Wade Barrett

I am not into this feud yet, and I am wishing that it is a way to provide the Money in the Bank briefcase to Wade Barrett, instead of a way to put Daniel Bryan over and set another nail in Wade’s coffin.

Miz against Mysterio? R-Truth against John Morrison? Cody against Zeke? Ziggler against Riley? Kofi against Del Rio? A large total waste of time with Cee Lo Eco-friendly may be the only guarantee. They appear hell-bent on not announcing anymore matches but you will know they’ll throw a minumum of one more to the card on Sunday. I would not be amazed in the event that match were Morrison teaming with Mysterio to manage Truth and Miz, departing others in the dust to try and continue keeping their feuds alive and also have Ziggler defend his title against Riley and Zeke reduce the chances of Cody at Night of Champions.
